Style
My wedding photography is conducted very much in the background and with no attempt to dominate the proceedings as so many photographers do. A lot of pictures are taken in an informal and unobtrusive way (the modern term being “reportage”), working on the principle that a complete coverage of the event is recorded rather than just a few stereotyped album shots, as is often the case with more traditional wedding photography. I always try to capture those special moments that make the day so memorable and which will be treasured for the rest of the couple’s lives together.

More formal photographs can be taken if requested, but these will be taken in the same non-time-consuming style.

Other family or social events – anniversaries, birthdays, christenings, parties and so on are covered in the same manner.

Photography
High-resolution digital images will be taken on the day in addition to the normal print photographs (if these are requested - see * below), and will be supplied on disc. You can then take the disc to your local photo printers to get high quality prints (to A3 size or bigger), or I can do these for an additional cost.

Black and white, sepia and digital effects can be produced from the digital images.

Some people still prefer traditional print film - so do I, under certain conditions, particularly harsh sunshine - and this can be arranged. (That’s the print film, not the sunshine!!)

I often recommend that a combination of film and digital offers a good compromise. Print film can be used for the more traditional shots which may be destined for an album, whilst digital can capture these in addition to the more informal shots - the best of both worlds!

Service/Fees
There are three basic packages shown as a guide, example prices as below, but personal packages can be organised by prior arrangement; please do enquire.

* If film is used there would be an additional charge to cover the cost of film and processing (typically around £50 depending upon number of films used).

Each package includes all the photographs on disc, (even the ones when you blinked!) and where print film is requested they will be printed to 7.5”x5” and supplied in simple preview albums. (See below regarding additional sets of prints.) Negatives will also be supplied - this is most uncommon for wedding photography.

The selection of a large, expensive album is often best made by the bride and groom and so I don’t insist on supplying this. However, I can produce high quality prints on archival papers in a variety of finishes for inclusion in your own album. I can also produce canvas prints.

My wife is a picture framer thus giving the opportunity for you to extend the service to include framed photographs after the wedding.

Additional Services
(very few photographers offer this option!)

If you opt to have your photographs on traditional print film then additional full sets of prints are available at a cost of £10 per film. (They must be from all films and at the same size as the originals, and only if ordered at the time of the original processing.) This is much more convenient for you than sorting out individual reprints at a later date.

Travel and additional expenses may be added for distances in excess of 50 miles from my home, which is in Lochgoilhead, Argyll.
